Glowing Stone, Anniversary Canyon, Nevada

Anniversary Canyon in Lake Mead National Recreation Area is home to Lovell Narrows. This is one of the many natural places near Las Vegas, Nevada that few people connect with the man made nature of Sin City.

For me this is one of the places that I love to escape to to get out of the city.

This picture was taken just days before Christmas of 2008. Typically there was no snow in the area surrounding Las Vegas, but it was captured on a day that was uncharacteristically cloudless in the heart of the holiday season.
