Moapa National Wildlife Refuge Mockingbird

This Northern Mockingbird was found in Moapa National Wildlife Refuge and is also home to a lot of other bird species. It is always nice to find a good potential photography spot closer to home rather than further away! Sadly it appears that the Moapa National Wildlife Refuge was abandoned by all except the birds, so I guess time will tell what becomes of it.

This morning I was in the area looking for a bird that was rare to Nevada, the Yellow-throated Warbler. This little bird was seen right as the sun rose and then flew away not offering me any opportunity to photograph it sadly. I am not to worried though, because when I travel to Texas and the east coast later this year I think I will be able to have a chance again to photograph it, that is a bad gamble though, birds tend to do whatever they feel like and can show up anywhere!
